Poker Booming at 888
888 has just released its third quarter earnings which show poker revenues up a whopping 120% over the same period in 2010
with online poker revenues jumping from $8 million to $18 million. 888 has been better known for its popular 888 casino site but the company has seen strong growth in its poker product since the release of its newest Poker 6 platform. Poker revenues for the first 6 months of the year are up a more modest 22%
with some of the gains also coming at the expense of Full Tilt as the woes of that company caused many international players to find new poker homes at sites such as 888 and PartyPoker. 888 has also seen success in targeting more casual players
introducing new features such as Web cam tables and team tournaments that are tied to the results of major live sporting events. 888′s overall revenues were strong as well
with third quarter revenues up 42% as compared to 2010. Its casino
bingo
and poker products all registered strong growth
with the company focusing on offerings to consumers instead of business-to-business products and services after a strategic review in the second quarter.
